Charles 11, Embarkation at Scheveningen, silver medal, 1660, by Peter van Abele, armoured draped bust of Charles 11 almost facing, wearing Lesser George, rev. Fame with trumpet flies over fleet, in full sail, legend around and in scroll below, 70 mm, (MI. 455/44), formed as two plates joined by a rim. Minor marks and rubbed on the high points, otherwise good very fine and very rare. £Sold
On 2nd June, Charles II and his court embarked at Scheveningen following his restoration to the English throne. The King sailed on board the Naseby which as a result of this journey was renamed the Royal Charles.
