London, Haymarket, King's Theatre and Opera House,
An extract from the agreement between the Theatre Managers and the holders of one of these tickets states-
"Whereas the said George Grant hath contracted and agreed with the said William Taylor for the absolute purchase of one Silver Ticket of Admission to the said Theatre or Opera House, which shall entitle the bearer thereof to be admitted gratis to any part of the said Theatre, to be present at, and see all and every theatrical performance and every public entertainment, which shall be exhibited there together with the additional privilege of being admitted gratis to the Concert in the New Room, under the name and title of Opera Concert, for and during the term of sixteen years from 1795, at the price and sum of one hundred and fifty pounds."
The King's Theatre, Haymarket, as rebuilt in 1791, had a Concert- Room attached and general tickets of admission gave access to this and the theatre.
A cost of £150 in 1796 would be the equivalent today of some £15,000.
