Opening of London Bridge, , white metal medal, 1831, by B. Wyon, arms and motto of the City of London, rev. Bridge House Estates mark within an oak wreath, LONDON BRIDGE/ COMMENCED 15 JUNE 1825/ OPENED 1 AUGUST/ 1831, 27 mm, (BHM. 1545), contained within glass lunettes with integral loop for suspension, with fitted case. Good very fine. £Sold
The fitted case bears a note written in 1896 which states- "This medal was presented to Robert Clarke Croft
by King William IV at the Opening of London Bridge 1831. He was taken there by Mr. Williams. He was five years old - the King patted his head. - A.M.Croft, 1896."
