Charles 1 and Henrietta Maria, Marriage Counter Box, silver counter box, circa 1625, containing four silver counters commemorating the marriage, with Charles and Henrietta Maria facing, the reverse showing a cherub carrying the interlinked roses of England with the lilies of France. The lid made of another similar counter. 32 x 26 mm. (MI. 238/3). Good very fine and rare in this form. £Sold
Henrietta Maria was the daughter of Henry 1V of France and these counters were distributed at the ceremony.
