John Shirley-Fox, RBA (1860-1939), portrait painter and numismartist. Shirley-Fox was a friend of Christopher Blunt and was instrumental in igniting the latter's interest in coins and medals. He was Vice-President of the British Numismatic Association from 1915-16 and received the gold medal of the Society for his contribution to the paper written in conjunction with his brother H.B. Earle Fox, on the numismatic history of the reigns of Edward I, II and III.
