The sons of Tipoo arrived at Lord Cornwallis's camp on the 27th February 1792 and a full account of the ceremony is given in the Gentleman's Magazine,1792 volume II, p.760.
The British kept the sons until Tipoo paid the full war indemnity demanded by them.
