Princess Charlotte, Snuff Box, bronze gilt and papier mache, circa 1817, by T. Webb for Sir Edward Thomason, the lid of the box bearing a profile portrait of Princess Charlotte right, CAROLETTA AUGUSTA, 100 x 19 mm, (BHM. 778). Good very fine. £Sold
This portrait was initially used for the betrothal of Charlotte to Prince William of Orange in 1814, which was subsequently called off. Edward Thomason had examples distributed to members of the royal household, including the Prince Regent and Charlotte herself.
