Death of Mary, silver box, , 1694, by J. Boskam, the lid bearing a bust of Mary with hair bound in strings of pearls and tiara with legend around, the base depicting a monument of three levels decorated with bas-reliefs representing a grand funeral procession; on the upper level are seated the three Fates with a medallion of Mary, UNICA DIGNA DEO (WORTHY ALONE OF GOD), in exergue VIVIT. POST. FUNERA. VIRTUS. MDCXCV (VIRTUE SURVIVES THE TOMB 1695); the sides of the box decorated with a floral pattern and makers mark stamped to the edge, 56 x 17 mm (MI 114/349). A small split at the rim and some wear to the edges, otherwise good very fine and very rare. £Sold
