Charles 1, Return to London Following the Scottish Coronation, cast silver medal, 1633, by N. Briot, armoured bust of Charles 1 wearing large lace collar right, rev. a view of London as seen from Southwark, with radiate sun above, with views of the original St. Pauls and London Bridge with the heads of criminals clearly on view on spikes at the southern end of the bridge. SOL. ORBEN REDIENS SIC REX ILLUMINAT URBEM (AS THE SUN ILLUMINATES THE WORLD SO DOES THE KING'S RETURN GLADDEN THE CITY), 41 mm, (MI. 267/63). Edge damage on both rims, probably from a mount removed, otherwise good very fine and extremely rare. £Sold
One of the features of the reverse is that it shows the City prior to the Fire with the original St. Pauls and the heads on spikes at the end of London Bridge.
