Thomas Davidson, (1817-1885). Palaeontologist. Between 1850 and 1870 he wrote a monograph on the British fossil bachiopods containing over 3000 pages and 250 plates, all drawn by himself.His extensive collection was bequeathed to the Natural History Museum on his death.
