George II, Royal Family Medal, silver medal, 1732, by J. Croker & J. This medal is very much part of the medallic war which was taking place between the Jacobites and the Hanoverians. In 1731 the Old Pretender had issued his medal by the Hamerani's in Rome trumpeting the credentials of his two children, Charles and Henry. George's reply was this, twice the size, showing the seven offspring of the established order.
The medal was issued by George to be given to foreign dignitaries.
