City of London, Visit of the Shah of Persia, , bronze medal, 1873, by A. B. Wyon, uniformed bust of Shah Nasr- ed- Din wearing Persian fez, three quarters left, NASSER ED DEEN SHAH OF PERSIA, rev. Londinia standing before a view of St. Paul's and the Tower of London, holding a scroll inscribed, with arm outstretched above the arms of Persia and the City of London, 20 JUNE 1873, 77 mm, (BHM. 2951), a pair of medals contained in original gilt lettered case for the Corporation of the City of London. Good extremely fine and very rare in this form. £Sold
Nasser- ed-Din, (1829- 1896). Shah of Persia. Visited England as part of a tour of Europe. Landing at Dover and met by members of the Royal family, he took a special train and then was escorted to Buckingham Palace.
He was guest of honour at a reception at the Guildhall on 21st June, with 3000 invited guests by the Corporation of the City of London.
