The History of the Bromsgrove Guild by Quintin Watt gives a good background to this item.
In 1909 Joan of Arc was beatified by Pope Pius X. This plaque shows her riding into Rheims. The design was probably influenced by a postcard that Walter Gilbert had received from Paris in 1904 which depicted Emmanuel Fremiet's statue of Joan. Louis Weingartner designed and modelled these medals.
