This was a private speculation by James Peters, a jeweller of St. Mary's Street, now Market Hill, struck at the Soho Mint.
Sir Hugh Percy, third Duke of Northumberland, (1785-1847). On entering Parliament he introduced a bill for the abolition of slavery in the colonies but it was counted out.
