This was a subscription medal, intended to raise money for a number of political radicals including Thomas Muir of Hunterskill, who had been tried for sedition and sentenced to transportation to New South Wales.
The British Museum note that "This medal was issued by the Ancient Druids Universal Brethren. The designer was William Blake who had not seen Stonehenge and gathered his idea of it from drawings by Stukeley."
