Halliday, bare head bust of Wellington left, ARTHURUS MARCHIO DE WELLINGTON MDCCCX11, rev. ten line inscription within tied wreath listing the major victories up to the entry into Madrid. 54 mm, (BHM. 743;Eimer 15), contained within original Thomason pewter shell with trade label. Slightly grey surface in places, otherwise nearly extremely fine and scarce, especially with the original shells. £Sold
The Thomason trade label reads- "The Dies executed by Webb, from a likeness Modelled by Miss Andras, for the Wellesley family, which model was obligingly lent to Messrs. Thomason & Co. the manufacturers of the medals.
