Society of Arts, Isis Prize
The Isis prize was awarded from 1810 for Fine Arts.
William Gush (flourished 1833-1874), portrait painter. Some of his works, including his 1857 portrait of the music critic John Curwen, are in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery.
Between 1834 and 1863 he painted numerous portraits of Methodist ministers which were turned into prints.
Are number of his works are at Clevedon Court in Somerset, to which he was connected through marriage.
