Viscount Duncan, Admiral, (1731- 1804).A Scot born in Dundee, although famous for his victory against the Dutch at Camperdown, he had been present at the blockade of Brest in 1759 as well as taking part in the court martial of Admiral Keppel in 1778.
William Brown was a gem-engraver who produced a number of portraits of significant figures of the period.
