A copy of the seal of Mary Queen of Scots ring, owned by the the well-known Scottish antiquary, the Earl of Buchan. The ring, which is now in the Royal Collection was exhibited ay Holyrood Palace in 1843, and these facsimiles were sold as souvenirs.
When Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in Loch Leven Castle in July 1567, Robert Douglas, Earl of Buchan, was one the few people allowed to visit her.
