Sir Samuel Morland's Steam Engine, bronze medal, 1685, on the sea a conical shaped vessel on a square wooden base, in the side is inserted a long pipe and from the top steam billows out; in the distance, a ship at full sail, GRATA SUPER VENIEt, rev. in the foreground an ornamental fountain behind two ships at sea, QUAE NON SPERABITUR UNDA (THE WATER WILL BE MORE WELCOME THE LESS IT IS EXPECTED), 28 mm (MI 596/280).
