Southsea, St. Paul's School, Instituted 1825
Taylor notes that Southsea's first church, gothic in style had been designed by Francis Goodwin,(1820-22). St.Paul's School was founded in 1825 by a society of one hundred persons taking subscriptions of £25 each.The architect was Jacob Owen, who two years later built All Saint's, Mile End, Portsea.The school subsequently became a Baptist Chapel and has since been demolished.
